Postdoctoral Researcher
Sara Maestre Andrés
I am an environmental social scientist with a PhD in Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB, 2016), a MSc in Ecological Economics and Environmental Management (ICTA-UAB, 2011) and a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the UAB (2010). My research is focused on human-nature relationships and environmental governance by designing and evaluating strategies, policy instruments and processes that contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, ecosystem services provision and the mitigation and adaptation to climate change. I have also conducted research on the social perceptions of the effectiveness and fairness of climate policies. I am further interested on transitions and transformative change, with a specific focus on the role of social innovations and commons-led coproduction. My studies are located in the intersection between human geography, political ecology and socio-ecological systems. I adopt a transdisciplinary research approach to advance knowledge and practice on governance structures that include intensive stakeholder participation and knowledge co-production processes.
